Lakes Estates has reduced the 'elevated advisory'
to a 'swimming advisory'.
The water sample collected
on August 9th showed microcystin levels reduced to 10.25 ug/L
(ppb or parts per billion.) Microcystin
is a cyanotoxin associated with blue- green algae,
also called a Harmful Algal Bloom (HAB). The Ohio Department of Health
public advisory for microcystin levels measuring greater
than 6 ppb
and less than 20 ppb
(caution when swimming and wading in the water.)
Department of Health recommends
an 'elevated public advisory' for microcystin
levels measuring 20 ppb or more. Contact with water
should be avoided for levels
microcystin measuring greater than 20 ppb. For more information
blooms see the Ohio Department of Health website at:

NOTE: Other lakes and rivers in NEO are
experiencing the same issue with B-G algae levels
(high outdoor temperatures and
little or no rain). Metro Parks have closed its lakes for swimming.
SLE Trustees have established rules and
regulations per the Trust to help make SLE
a safe and enjoyable property for its Lot Owners, their families
and occasional guests.
Lot owners are responsible for compliance with these published rules and to educate
their family and guests. Note the SLE staff do not make the Rules ... they only enforce them.
If you have any
questions about the Rules please contact the SLE Board of Trustees.
Website shows SLE's needs to maintenance, repairs
